Two Girls In Hats

Azul in Great HatCelia in Great HatCelia continues to flourish in her role as fashion inspiration for me. She has the coolest collection of hats and she looks totally fabulous in all of them. So I am just beginning to try to keep up. Plain denim to start, I figured -- nothing too flashy because, you know, I certainly wouldn't want to attract any more attention than I already do! I wore my hat on a long walk this morning: mom and dad took me along to a meeting with Celia's daycare teachers (she's already getting great report cards, of course), and then we visited my dad's office (I didn't want to say anything because, you know, what do I know, but don't you think it is kind of a big mess?). Then mom brought me home and I had my first official, out-of-the-hospital bath (something to do with a little um . . . well . . . let's just say a little diaper event) and then, surprise, surprise . . . I fell asleep (don't you love the little spiky thing I've got going with my hair after the bath?). Exciting developments tonight though: Dad tried giving me a little formula in a bottle, so mom won't be completely tied to me every hour or so. I decided I would play along and drink a bit just to make him think it was working . . . but if they think this will lessen my time nursing with mom, HA! I'll surprise them yet again.

So Many Parties

Yesterday was my most social day yet. People, people, people . . . ! I see what mom and dad mean about Quincy House being such a great place for hanging out with wonderful people -- I just wish we were staying here longer. First thing in the morning (after a couple of morning nursings, of course) we went outside into the courtyard and met mom's Expos friend Chris and her neat son Camden. Then our neighbors Rob and Gina and their very cool, 19-month daughter Susanna showed up, and it was basically a kid fest. I, of course, was the center of attention, and all the older kids thought I was really fascinating. Last night we went to the first of the Thursday night summer barbeques for the permanent Quincy residents. I got to meet the House Masters Bob and Jayne and it seemed like everyone wanted to hold me, including Alex, her mother (visiting from Puerto Rico), and Emily. I was happy to oblige them.

Cute, Innocent Celia After we got home Celia tried to put my tiny baby shoes on her big feet and gave me more lessons (as though I need them) in looking cute and innocent. Then we all went to sleep early and I actually let my parents sleep, more or less (OK, except for waking up three or four times to nurse, but I was very polite and quick about it). They both said they felt amazingly rested this morning.
