Happy Father's Day Daddy (From Celia and Me)
What a great Father's Day present for my dad, having me arrive just a week before. He says I have pretty good timing. We had such a fun day. Celia, Mom, and I took him to their favorite little bakery on Brattle Street for a latte (he seems to love those things, whatever they are) and muffins. And then we all went to the first farmers' market of the year. Very cool -- all sorts of wild looking things. We bought stuff called asparagus and arugula and tomatoes and, really weird looking, rhubarb. Once again, lots of food that I don't eat! We also ran into dad's friend John Palfrey and his family -- their 14-month old son Jack is a real cutie, if I'm allowed to say things like that yet (dad says we'll talk about that later). And we stopped into BabyGap to buy me more cool clothes (I'm starting so early, aren't I?) Celia showed me how to do some serious shopping -- I wonder where she gets her skills? After a long walk, we came back home to Quincy and I got to meet more House friends, including Emily Bates, who was SO nice to me. Then dad and I stayed in and napped (one of my two favorite things) while mom and Celia went outside and Celia painted pictures for our present to dad. She is SO talented . . . what a cool sister. Finally, we went across the courtyard for a wonderful dinner (so mom and dad say, since, as usual, I didn't eat any of it!) with friends Rob and Gina and their totally cool little daughter Susanna. Susanna is younger than Celia but still she does all kinds of really great things. I'm very jealous of both of them and will be working hard to catch up. Dad said he had a terrific day and that Celia and I were the most perfect gifts he could ever hope to have. Ahhhhhhh . . . thanks dad!
