Rebecca's Blog
Mostly news stories or articles of interest in the future to me. I'll eventually get around to adding my own ideas and stories on a more regular basis.

Joel on software suggests that the number one rule of writing good specifications is to Be Funny. The whole point is to clearly communicate what is being built so that everyone gets what they want. Precision and clarity are important, but a dazed and confused audience probably wont get it.

Several good links in this article on writing specifications, which I will be doing very soon.

I could use some good tips on client interviews / focus groups since I'll be doing THREE next Tuesday.  A little bit excitement, a little bit nerves...

[Darrell Norton's Blog] said today "The people that probably know the most are also the ones trying hardest to learn."

At first I thought, "you know, that's probably true."  But, then I realized I have a brother with a learning disability and when we try an  equal amount I end up knowing a lot more.  But, I guess if you said, "other things being equal...the people that know the most are the ones trying the hardest to learn," i would agree.

And today's quotes.

Joan Didion. "Character - the willingness to accept responsibility for one's own life - is the source from which self respect springs."

Unknown. "Most people rust out due to lack of challenge. Few people rust out due to overuse."
