Eight years ago today I started my first really serious job (at Conway Corporation).  My how time flies.  I was 19, and was a CSR for a cable-modem company.  In lots of ways the job changed my life.  A big one being that I worked with two cool guys that I ended up moving 17-hours from home with.  hhmm.. I would also say the job made me more "businessy" 'cause I actually worked in a business office rather than flipping burgers.  And I learned customer service skills.  Yep, it was good all around.

Am I different now, other than looking a little older?  I'm still goofy.  I got a friggin' shamrock on my face today.  I'm less shy about it.  And less shy, in general.  I'm smarter in some ways, probably less so in others (um, yeah, I don't remember calculus now).

Eight years!  Wow!

I am learning as I age to not trust my instincts when it comes to analyzing situations (i'm fine with my character-instincts).  For situations, however, I think I tend to focus too much on me and change the situation around to that side...and it's just normally wrong.  "This person did this because I did xxxx"....well, often "this person did this because of something unrelated to me."  And such.  Hhhmmm...yeah.  Maybe recognizing that difference will improve my gut.

That and a few crunches.

My office door is always open and you can typically see me if you walk by.  There's one guy, who I've never been introduced to, that always turns his head completely sideways and looks at me as he walks by.  Other people sometimes look in, but they all say hello.  He doesn't.  I said hello once and he didn't respond.  Next time he goes by, I swear I'm going to skick out my tongue.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

I got a really awesome night's sleep last night.  And I did get the chores done before I went to bed (and finished up this morning....except for the carpets...which will be quick).  I seriously don't think I moved between 11 and 6:30.  I was having a funny dream when I woke up; one of those times that the alarm went off and you wanted to finish the dream rather than having an unfinished story.  Of course now I don't remember what it was about.  That's probably best.

I'm in a March Madness pool at the new job.  I picked all southern states.  I hope that LSU does really well.  heh.  And the other Lousiana, Texas, Mississippi teams....no hogs made it in.

My song of the bi-month is "Jingle Bells."  Maybe Brock secretly hates me.  He did say I can't be in his posse unless I kill someone.  I'm trying to kill Dallas with my morning wake-up calls.

I will get back to the gym and diet next week.  Darn it!  No time tonight....and tomorrow - Tuesday the mom will be here and I'll be Uber busy.

I know this is boring.  I'll try to think of a good story later.

Heh.  My horoscope today says:

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Finish up your chores as early as you possibly can, because by sundown, you won't be interested in doing anything that's not directly related to romance. Yes, really. Yes, you

I sure am glad I took out the trash and made my bed this morning...
