David Hoggard's take on local politics and life in general from Greensboro, NC

Lorraine Ahearn's N&R column this morning was disturbing to me.  While I understand that every allegation of misconduct of our police force must be taken seriously and investigated, police in old brown vans "bird dogging" our uniformed officers to see if they are 'moonlighting' on taxpayer time is a little wierd.

Surely our 'secret police' have better things to do.

*******

Wharton (again) gives a different, and very positive, perspective on Chief Wray and his way a relating to this diverse bunch of people who live around here.

I drove through Willow Oaks on Wednesday and was as impressed with the re-development project as David Wharton was, but I didn't have my digital camera with me.

In the case of this $76M Federal HOPE VI project, publicly subsidized development has put the private sector to absolute shame.  Take a drive to the former Morningside Homes "project" and you will see one of the best things your tax money has ever created.
