Jackson called from school around 2:30 with news that Crest High School had to forfeit tonight's game against the all powerful Whirlies.  But alas I was fixin' some windows over in the Westerwood Neighborhood and just didn't think it to be prudent to leave my customer's house open to the elements in order to come home and blog it.

So a reader reported it in my stead.  Thanks Doug.

Here's the whole story (N&R).

Good N&R print article on Grimsley's football team in advance of tonight's semi-final state championship game at Jamieson Stadium.  The online version has expanded photo coverage by Kim Walker and Rob Brown.  The Grimsley-Crest 'capsule preview' is here.

Third-year (not 20-year) coach Todd Shuping has done an outstanding job of shaping the Whirlies into a helluva team that Greensboro should be very proud of.  Even if your blood runs Page red, come on out tonight and fill up the stands.  We'll be sitting right next to the band.

We'd do it for you.  Really... we would.

Today's N&R reports that First Horizon Stadium will undergo some changes this winter to make the left field berm more user friendly and prepare the space for additional seating.  But Hogg's Blog readers knew changes were afoot way back in October, didn't you?

We discussed the change way back then, but I guess we could talk about it again.
