Now that the High Point Lottery has been deep-sixed, it will be interesting to see how the most vocal parents who were in opposition to the ill-conceived plan react.

I suppose a bit of gloating is to be expected, but then it will get down to finding out if they are truly interested in providing all of High Point's children with an equal education, or just looking out for their own self-interests.

Redistricting is in their future so they will now have an opportunity to be a force for positive change.  Or they can choose to be agents of continued segregation of their schools.
