I think Ben really means it this time.

Ben Holder is the latest in a long line of Greensboro bloggers who have flamed themselves out after a short, but brilliant, heavily linked and frequently commented-upon presence here in the local blogoshere. (Although I have it on good authority that Ben will re-incarnate elsewhere). 

As with most things in life, the key to blogging longevity is moderation.  The key to blogging, um ...shortevity is excessiveness.  I know from experience that weblogging can become your life instead of simply being reflective of it.

The Clinton and Carter administrations ordered domestic surveillance without a court order, too. (Drudge)  (Edited: Drudge didn't read the whole of the linked orders, nor did I - Carter and Clinton's orders followed established law - hat tip to Think Progress for reading it and to Ed for the pointer in the comments)...A FISA court judge resigned yesterday in protest of the Bush administration excercising the power without involving the 11 judge panel.

The practice is either legal or it it is not and we need to figure it out.
