Ten things seen in the past 18 hours:
4:30 pm: A 3 1/2-week old foal up at the Tower Hill farm, all legs and twitching tail and sweet, inquisitive face.
5:05 pm: Black-eyed Susans and daisies in the fields, and now on my dining room table.
6:35 pm: Miserable news from Iraq on TV; more analysis online of delusion and incompetence at the top, and yet the polls show Bush even with Kerry.
8:55 pm: My summer housemate, Christy, joins me for the end of Mariana de la Noche and stays to watch CSI. She is taller, blonder, and younger than me by 24 years. She could be my daughter. I don’t feel that old, and yet I do.
11:20 pm: Michael Moore on The Daily Show. I am looking forward to seeing “Fahrenheit 9/11.”
11:35 pm: Philosopher Bernard-Henri Levy on Charlie Rose, talking animatedly about the forgotten war zones and the two kinds of mankind we have: those we care about and those we don’t.
6:00 am?: Manny Ramirez happily sipping the mate I served him (weird dream).
6:15 am?: Another dream: I’m in a grocery store buying fish to have with M tonight. Can’t decide what to buy. I select the “Fish” tab on this big book I’m holding and inside are all kinds of cold, slippery, fresh fish.
8:00 am: Haloscan has sent me two new comments from my blog friends; I check up on posts in my blog neighborhood.
10:00 am: Photo of my new underwear – the last thing I posted. Quick! post something new!
