This, that and the other thing

It's rainy and cold today, so I'm glad I got out yesterday afternoon for a walk. Soon enough I'll have to resort to walking in cold if not damp weather, trying to find time during all-too-brief daylight hours for moving muscles and taking in fresh air outdoors. I'll move my bicycle out of the garage and onto a trainer in my office where I'll catch up on New Yorker articles while pedaling and going nowhere. Maybe I'll join the local gym this winter; that way I can use the treadmill to run or walk while going nowhere, too. Then again, I may do my usual thing and just bundle up and walk outdoors whenever it's not too icy underfoot. Hopefully that's still a couple of months away...
I keep getting interrupted writing this. Damn those clients!! I've been busy finishing up some narration scripting for one client, and I just spent an hour on the phone with another client who'd been away for weeks but finally got back to me with revisions; it's been so long I could barely remember what the project was about. Yesterday I picked up a new sales case study to start on. So while I don't have a huge amount of work, for the time being this should keep me in groceries and heating, and cable and electricity, health insurance, mortgage, real estate taxes, not to mention those Internet dating service charges plus, well, one needs appropriate attire for that (not so much to impress, mind you, as to make me feel like "damn I look good" or as close to that as possible - okay, just an excuse). At some point I have to run out to Staples to get new inkjet cartridges, which end up costing more than the printer in the long run, no?
And then there's the Red Sox-Yankees game 6 tonight. I'm exhausted just watching them, I don't know how they're managing to keep up the energy to play. Adrenaline, I guess.
