I have not posted from the ARC Forum for a couple of days because I've had no time to stop. From 7 am meetings to dinners lasting until 11 pm, it's been busy. Met lots of people, but not a lot of news. I'll digest my notes and write something from the President's Club in Houston on my way home this afternoon.
The forum theme was sustainability, and emphasis was on finding ways of calling things we already do "sustainable." Because of all my personal meetings, I only sat in about 4 hours of presentations over three days.
The big news of the week happened yesterday. I woke up to emails about happenings at Invensys. I'm quoting from a memo from Invensys CEO Ulf Henrikson that was posted on Jim Pinto's gripe log. First former Eurotherm president Jeff Greene is sr. vp of leading a team to investigate integration of the Industrial Automation division--Eurotherm, Invensys Process Systems (itself an integration of Foxboro, Triconix, Avantis and SimSci-Esscor), and Wonderware. Then in the wake of Paulett Eberhar's sudden disappearance, there is a significant reorg.
Sudipta Bhattacharya, president of Wonderware is now COO managing the day-to-day operations of the entire IA group. Phil Clark is now SVP of sales and marketing, and Pankaj Mody is vp of development and technology (he has been CTO of Wonderware and IPS). IPS will have three leaders under Bhattacharya with Steve Blair as IPS president for North America. Rashesh Mody, vp of product marketing will also be interim president of Wonderware. "Sudipta's focus is on ensuring we finish the year strong and create momentum heading into the first quarter. He and I will meet regularly with the IA leaders to make sure we stay aligned and meet our commitments," stated Henrikson in his memo.
