Phil Christopher commenting on my last post about Bob Lutz wants to know how losing talent like Bob Lutz will help GM compete. I think the point of Hargadon's blog is "good riddance." Get someone in there who can really design what customers want. Goes along with Jeff Jarvis' book excerpted in Business Week about what would happen if GM tried innovating like Google. I'm with Hargadon and Jarvis. I think Lutz has outlived his time. Time for retirement. Some people can reinvent themselves to keep up with the time, others keep wishing for a past that never was.
