In the midst of vacation and trip to India, I forgot to announce the arrival of System.out ("Blog on Java and Persistence") the blog-child of Mike Keith.  Mike Keith is the Architect of EJB and TopLink Development Team in Oracle. He is our primary member of JSR 220 Expert Group (me being the secondary) and one of the major contributors of the persistence work being done in EJB 3.0 specification. In his last blog, he has a nice recap of JavaPolis.

My coworker and TopLink product manager Douglas Clarke has written a nice article Select the Best Persistence Architecture for JavaPro. In this article Doug compares different options and provides a guideline on selecting persistence architecture for your project.

Here is right on this statement "There is a growing division between those in the Java community who support and are successful with CMP entity beans and those supporting POJO style solutions. We will see a convergence between the ORM persistence offered by CMP and POJO with the upcoming changes proposed in EJB 3.0. This solution combines the best of both approaches that will simplify the challenge and the solution fragmentation we're seeing today. "
