SF [posted by Troy]
I got back from San Francisco last night. Here's a quick recap:

Zach, an old CHS buddy, played tour guide for me. It was great to see him. As you can see, I drug him to one of my old haunts on the Presidio.

Here's the bridge at night.

I was staying at Union Square for my conference.

I loved this sign in the window of Lawrence Ferlinghetti's City Lights Bookstore.

Things to come [posted by Troy]
I've stumbled on a few things that may illustrate some developments for the future. Chicago is seriously looking at a city-wide wireless network, which would be very cool. The Chicago Public Library already provides wireless at its 79 branch libraries, so this may be the start of the infrastructure. On top of this, a new study reports that nationwide circulation numbers for newspapers are really dropping. The national 1.9% drop is the sharpest in recent history. The Tribune dropped by 6%. There are several reasons for this (including the national do not call list), but part of this is comes from online reading.
