Free Publicity [posted by ZelderBar]
Did you hear the story about the police tossing Cindy Sheehan out of the State of Union address? She was wearing a t-shirt that read "2,245 Dead. How many more?" (Note, this shirt is now out of date.) Sheehan was a guest of a member of congress. The irony is that she is getting all kinds of attention about freedom of speech and the government's fear of a t-shirt. If they would have let her sit, no one would have even noticed.

$36 billion [posted by ZelderBar]
Did you hear about Exxon's record profits? Here's a quote:

Exxon Mobil got the oil companies' profit season underway in spectacular fashion yesterday by announcing a 42pc jump in full-year net income to $36.1billion (£20.3billion).

In global terms Exxon has effectively emerged as the world's 49th biggest "economy" with profits in excess of the gross national product of 125 of the 184 countries figuring in World Bank statistics.

Here's a question, why are the people in the middle east among the poorest in the world? Don't they live on the world's richest resource? Oh, wait, where does oil profit go?
