Plagiary Archaic [posted by Troy] The word plagiarism comes from the noun "plagiary," which can be traced back to 1631 as its earliest written usage (according to the OED). A Plagiary is a kidnapper, or someone who steals away other pleople. So, it could be used, "the child was taken in the night by some plagiary."
