Oh, Chuck! [from the Land of Stone]
Stoner sent me the link to the Chuck Norris Random Fact Generator. Here's a sample:

It isn't blood running through Chuck Norris' veins; it's pain.

Go to the site and hit refresh a few times to see new facts.

Two New York Times Artiticles [posted by Zelderbar]
The Zelderbar Watch Program (ZWP) has been a bit lazy over the last few days. I wanted to add a couple of things.

First, when Hurriucane Katrina hit there were a few friends of ours that said that the federal government really had nothing to do distasters like this. Local governments must be prepared with emergency plans, etc. I always wondered who coordinated between states, towns, cities, counties (parishes), ect if the Feds weren't involved. Well, this NY Times articles, Republicans' Report on Katrina Assails Administration Response, sheds some light on the issue. Bascially, everyone at the local and state level messed up. But, the federal government made things worse, and, now, even Republicans are pointing fingers.

Second, since its founding in 2002, I have always thought that the Guantanamo concentration camp goes against US principles and human rights. Now, the UN is agreeing. Check out this NY Times Article, Investigators for U.N. Urge U.S. to Close Guantánamo.
