Day Trip [posted by Troy]
For those of you in northern Illinois, Kim and I found a great day trip that is near Plano, Illinois (out by Aurora). This is the Farnsworth House designed by famous architect Mies van der Rohe, who is most well known for designing sky scrapers in Chicago. In this work, Mies exemplifies the ultra-minimalist, modernist approach that he has become famous for. When you go out and see this house, there is almost nothing to see. The Farnsworth House is a stark white structure consisting of steel I-beams and glass. It almost stands out against the Fox River valley forest, but the "it" that stands out is doesn't really exist.

Here are our photos of the trip.

Crash [posted by Troy]
I don't know if you've been watching the Tour de France, but there was a nasty crash on yesterday's breakaway. The crash has been posted here on U-Tube. It is worth watching.
