A Good Week-end What a great week-end it was. Temperatures in the low 20s both days, and nothing but sunshine. On Saturday night, Joe, Jamie and I went to a friend's house for dinner, sitting outside much of the time soaking up the warmth. Later on, we played poker - something I haven't done since my younger years. I have trouble folding, even if I have little in my hand. In Frobisher Bay, I remember a night I lost more than $100. That's when I decided poker and I should part ways. On Saturday night, no money was involved, but I did find I had gotten wiser over the years in terms of when to pull out.
Yesterday, the kids served me breakfast in bed. Jamie made chocolate chip cookies (at least he tried - they didn't really turn out but the thought was there), Iris vacuumed out my car, Joe bought me flowers and cooked a great dinner. I tried a new yoga class at the gym (felt great). All in all, I felt appreciated, and very lucky to be alive and to have such a great family.
