Music Festival 2006
Today was the start of the Rotary Music Festival. My one student performed two pieces pieces today. She played so well - I was very proud of her. And the adjudicator was amazing....positive with great energy.
He has that rare gift of always finding the good things in every performance, no matter what. There was one girl who was struggling through her piece. She had re-started several times and was clearly upset. The adjudicator went up to the piano and actually talked her through the tough parts so she could finish and not feel totally devastated about her performance. It was the right thing to do, but something that few other adjudicators would have considered. I wanted to run up there and give him a hug for his empathy and thoughtfullness.
