Omega-3 EFA's Help Prevent Alzheimer's
Essential Fatty Acid in Fish May Arrest Alzheimer's
Soy, Fish Oil May Protect Against Alzheimer's-Study

Here is some compelling evidence in a recent study that reinforces the advice Dr. Myatt has been dispensing for a long time now. For good health, people need to increase their intake of Omega 3 oils, reduce their intake of Omega 6 and Omega 9 oils, and eliminate intake of trans fats altogether. The Standard American Diet (S.A.D.) is terribly unbalanced in terms of it's ratio of Omega 6 to Omega 3 fatty acids - it averages a ratio of 20:1 or so, when it really should be closer to a 4:1 for optimal health. Add to that our intake of Omega 9 oils (such as olive oil) which contribute little to our health but compete for certain enzymes used by the body to properly assimilate and convert Omega 3 oils, and our ongoing love affair with trans fats which have been proven to be very harmful to our health, and you begin to see the scope of the problem. We at the Wellness Club strongly recommend adding Omega 3 Essential Fatty Acids to your diet in the form of Flax Oil Capsules, Flax Oil Liquid, or ground Flax Seed. Another excellent source, especially for those people who may not be capable of converting the alpha linolenic acid in flax seed oil to EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) and DHA (Docosahexanoic Acid) is Max EPA which is a concentrated form of fish oils, carefully processed to insure potency and purity. Our website has a more detailed discussion of the Essential Fatty Acids.

Cheers,
Nurse Mark
