Happy to Say "She Told You So!" again...
FDA Announces Qualified Health Claims for Omega 3 Fatty Acids Medical News Today - Sep 09 5:04 AM The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today announced the availability of a qualified health claim for reduced risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) on conventional foods that contain eiscosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) omega-3 fatty acids.
FDA OKs omega-3 heart claims on foods Newsweek - Sep 08 11:21 AM Food companies will be allowed to make certain claims about the heart-healthy benefits of omega-3 fatty acids on their packages, the Food and Drug Administration said Wednesday.
Omega-3 Foods Can Put Benefits on Label Washington Post - Sep 08 7:08 PM The FDA said Wednesday that fish and other foods and dietary supplements can claim they reduce the risk of heart disease, even though the scientific evidence is still unfolding.
So, the FDA says Omega 3's might be good for us after all...
A flurry of articles have come across our desks in the last day or so, since the mighty FDA has consented to allow claims of heart-healthiness to be placed on the labels (and presumably the advertising) of foods and supplements containing Omega 3 fatty acids.
It is interesting to note that the FDA is still pushing the low-cholesterol, low-saturated fat dogma of the conventional medical authorities - we wonder how long it will take for that to change!
Dr. Myatt has made supplementation with Omega 3 fatty acids one of the cornerstones of her treatment regimens for many years now - long before it was blessed by the mighty FDA. In doing so she has helped a great many of her patients "bypass the Bypass", avoid the statin drugs, and improve their cardiac health naturally.
Our website has a good discussion of the Omega 3 and other Essential Fatty Acids - please click on this link to learn more about Essential Fatty Acids .
Cheers, Nurse Mark
