Stupid Weight Loss Tricks

http://www.healthypages.net/newspage.asp?newsid=4867 is a news article first published in the prestigious American Journal of Clinical Nutrition which describes a study where subjects were made to fast every other day in an attempt to lose weight. While the researchers found that the diet was "feasible" it was far from practical or do-able as "most people were not happy" and a major problem was that the volunteers became cranky on the fasting days and this crankiness did not abate over the 3 weeks of the study period.

We are not sure if anyone is really following a plan like the one mentioned in this article for dieting and weight loss, but we are sure that there are some pretty strange diets out there, and that there are plenty of people who are making themselves miserable trying to follow them.

Recent research shows that almost any diet, good or bad, will result in some weight loss if followed faithfully, but it is hard to be faithful to a diet that makes you feel deprived and cranky.
