Just in case anyone can't make out all the words. . .

"GOOD" (aka The Podcasting Song) - (c) 2004/2005 Mike Lehman, December 25, 2004

Verse 1::::::::::::::::
You say I need your sexy cell phone, and I must watch to succeed
Your shows in HD TV, on your flat screen LCD
And you pitch your branded iPod, crammed full of every song
you've bought for your commercials, thinking I will sing along
You've planned the per...fect... life you think I need but...

CHORUS:::::::::::::::::
I'd rather be happy, I'd rather feel good
I'd rather hear podcasting, than listen to the crap from Hollywood
you think is fantastic I wouldn't buy that shit even if I could
I'd rather be happy, I'd rather feel... good

Verse 2::::::::::::::::
Your strategic product placements, put your trademark there for me
On everything from breath mints to the apples on your tree
To reach my demographic, you track my personal lifepath
Both when I'm stopped in traffic, <break> and when I take a bath
You wish I'd see... your... logo in my sleep, but...

<REPEAT CHORUS>

BRIDGE:::::::::::::::::
I grew up in the TV generation still I used to think you thought I had a mind
Now it's clear... you... just want my attention
to convince me that I'm no good without your precious product line but...
<REPEAT CHORUS>

I'd rather feel...good

Dave Winer loved my new song so much he put it up for everyone to hear (The Podcasting Song)!   Very Very Excellent!  (and then Robert Scoble linked to it!)

This post is here so that people who search for "The Podcasting Song" will also find my site :)

Mike's Manic Minute 01 Jan 2005

January 1, 2005

Almost live from Mountain View California!

It's 2005 Everybawdy. . .

And, I'll be the first to admit it, I was wrong. . . At least about how fast podcasting would grow.  I predicted two months ago at BloggerCon that we'd reach 1000 podcasts by today. . .and the iPodderX directory now lists over 2000!!!

What to expect from Microsoft in 2005. . .

(Disclaimer: I work for Microsoft, as a consultant, not a product developer)

Visual Studio 2005 - a whole new world of developer tools

Team System - finally integrated software lifecycle tools for .Net

SQL Server 2005 - With .Net built-in

And some other stuff I can't talk about yet. . .

Speaking of disruptive change. . .

www.craigslist.org is now being cited as the direct cause of millions of dollars of lost revenue for local newspaper advertising.  Prior to joining Microsoft I got my last two consulting gigs via craigslist and I hired four amazingly good people from job postings I made to craigslist.  Anyone want to start a video-craigslist distributed by podcasting to sell the junk in their garage?

New podcasts. . .

From the iPodderX directory

VideoGameNews Radio

Lextext

TameBear Radio 2004 (better change that name today, eh?)

DVGuys: Podcast

GodCast Network: 10 new feeds

Earthwatch Radio

Traxsource Cyberjamz Radio Show

In Over Your Head Radio

Rocketboom

And that's your Manic Minute for January 1st, 2005!
