Wardriving. .
.and how to prevent it
Someone has come up with a paint that contains minute metal filaments. With it
you can create your own "secure" room or house that would prevent someone, say
Adam Curry (wink, wink), from using the "neighborhood" WiFi. Where I live there
are at least 6 unprotected WiFi networks available to me. . . The only rub: The
paint is water based so you have to paint it on the inside of your house!
This week in
Palo Alto. . .$25,000 an inch
The big news around town: Someone at a "career day" told 8th grade students that
they could make $250,000 a year as exotic dancers and that each 2 inches of bust
line were worth $50,000 a year. People are shocked, c'mon most of these middle
schoolers, whether we like it or not, know more about the "real world" (and you
know what I mean) that we did when we were in college!
When freeware
isn't free. . .
The creators of the free (as in free beer) Paint.Net application were rolling on
the floor with laughter when they saw that someone had posted an auction on eBay
not only selling their product but charging $6.95 shipping-and-handling for
something you can download for free.
