The art or practice of concentration, no matter if studying biology or playing pool, is to focus on the task at hand and eliminate distraction

We all have the ability to concentrate [~] sometimes. Think of the times when you were [base "]lost[per thou] in something you enjoy: a sport, playing music, a good game, a movie. Total concentration.

Great tips that are useful way beyond studying[~]really for any kind of work that requires your mind not to wander off on its own. The [base "]Best Practices[per thou] section in particular has some useful ways to learn and address the sorts of things that cause you to break concentration. I don[base ']t think I[base ']d ever really thought about firewalling time for worrying, but it[base ']s certainly an interesting idea.

It looks to be another beautiful day here in Colorado today, a perfect fit for Mothers Day. I feel fortunate that I was able to spend a few hours with my own Mom yesterday and spent some time thinking about the various pieces of good advice she has given me over the years. If you are fortunate enough to still have your mother in your life, take this day to really be grateful for the life you have been given which is only possible because of your mother. Thanks Mom, I love you.
