Apple gives software great Bare Bones Software some much deserved credit for their early adoption of Automator into their showcase product BBEdit.

Always prompt to take on appropriate new Apple technologies, Bare Bones Software has embraced Automator, the personal automation assistant introduced in Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger. Automator Actions are supported in the new version of BBEdit, Bare Bones' highly respected, widely used, award-winning HTML and text editor. The 12-year-old company has won numerous awards, has a famously loyal customer base, and an impressive track record of both design and business success. Part of that success may be attributable to their ability to quickly ship products that support the key features of the newest versions of Mac OS X

Xeni Jardin has posted an interview with Adam Curry, the MTV veejay star and a pioneer of podcasting, on Wired today. "Curry helped create ipodder, a tool that automates the process of downloading and listening to audio files," reports the story. "His Daily Source Code podcast has become an online hit, and he's developing a new software tool for podcasters -- a virtual studio for editing and producing." The article also notes that last week Sirius Satellite Radio launched a new podcast program with Curry as host. The plan is for him to pick his favorite podcasts for inclusion in the daily four-hour show. The full interview is available from Wired.
