Do Our Kids Think We're Losers?
So this is obviously a little off-topic for the usual Nosce Ti Ipsum audience of Mac fans, but I found it fascinating none the less. Haley had an entry in her blog earlier this week that was sure to ruffle some feathers, especially in the part of Boston where she resides. Ironically, I found myself relating to a lot of what she was saying in this post, regardless of how politically incorrect (God I hate that term) it may come across.

This post talks about what it's like to be an out of the mainstream parent and being a definite outside among the other parents in your neighborhood. Haley is a single mom who is a writer - a far shot from your typical suburban housewives in her area. She wrestles with the affects of her decisions and who she is and how that will affect her son being seen as an outside much like herself.

I can relate with her struggle on so many levels. Choosing to walk a different path in life is far from easy, but having the courage be different enough to pursue the path that is right for you is something that few people do, but when you look at who is truely making a different in this work, the people that you admire, I guarantee you that the vast majority of those people also march to a different drummer as well.

Thanks to the wonderful work of RSS, Haley's blog entered my awareness today and I look forward to hearing more about what she has to say on her blog. One of the greatest powers of the Internet is its ability to bring people of like minds together so instead of just venting in vain, Haley now has a very public voice and a place to be heard. Judging by what little I know of her so far, I've got to think she's a Mac user :-)
