Top trio walk off with titles

Eric Paylor, Evening Gazette - It's a walk in the park for the athletes from Redcar Race Walking Club.

Three of the club's top strollers have notched major successes.

John Paddick, 61, became the oldest ever winner of the northern area 50k championship.

Dave Jones secured the Cyril Evans Trophy for amassing most aggregate points in the national long distance races, while Glen Blythman won the Bradford to Ilkley 14 miles race.

Paddick notched his notable achievement by finishing second in the Bradford 50k.
