Larry Boucher makes some choice comments about a the very geeky topic of data blades. "The Internet has changed what we want. Seven years ago, the demand was processing cycles; today it's data delivery. That's a huge change in what we want out of this environment."

Various entertainment sources report supermodel Claudia Schiffer has issued legal warnings to European magazines regarding publication of pictures of her swimming topless. As a public service I have created a link to them. [thnx Dennis]

N. Z. Bear: "Once upon a time there was no Internet. And it was good."

This nicely written piece really encapsulates a lot of the late nights I had back in the 300 baud days. I even built my first 75 baud modem when I was 15 or 16 years old. Shredded two phones to use the mouth and earpiece as an accoustic coupler.

Little did I know that only losers hacked the Vic20 from commodore....

Steven Lightfoot believes that author Stephen King murdered John Lennon, with the blessings of Ronald Reagan. Mark David Chapman was just an innocent pawn in their evil game. Witness the lengths Steven Lightfoot goes to to prove his theories. Here's the story that the media doesn't want you to read. [MetaFilter]

Sunday at the castle, we've had a beautiful weekend so far, part of the reason I didn't even flip the page yesterday!

And what a week it was, a funeral, memorial services, memorial television programs and to top it off an 80's revival concert with 7000 of mij closest personal friends. Unreal! It was great fun to see everyone again, Paul Young, Level42, but also Samantha Fox, who is sexier than ever and still can't sing :)

We decided to go to the castle on Saturday so it wasn't until then that I discovered the network provider for my brand new XDA GPRS Phone-PocketPC combo doesn't allow roaming until after they've determined the 'customer is credit worthy'. Long story short [read it in dutch here] no roaming until I either (a)Send a letter [yes letter!] requesting roaming, or (b) I have paid the first monthly invoice in full. Sigh. They are O2, used to be Telfort and I believe are a subsidiary of British Telecom and they suck. Do not use this cellphone provider if you need to actually be fucking mobile with your mobile phone.
