Apple: Top 10 Reasons to switch to a Mac

There are no Secrets: ClearChannelSucks.org. Clear Channel is the company that had been buying up radio stations all across America (and europe) in a widescale industry consolidation now almost complete. The company makes extra margin from an almost monopolistic position.

Watch out as this site gains in reach and flow.

Looks like the weblg outline tool is nearing completion. I'm excited about this feature. Finally I'll be able to edit my blog directly from the outliner. A featured I loved in manila, but this is going to be even better. In the process UserLand has sold me on another copy of radio tp use on my laptop while my 'setup' now pretty much runs permanently on my Mac at home.

I never used an outliner until Radio, but quickly realised weblogs are analogous to outlines, making the outliner a natural tool for web based writing.

ok, enough blognosing. Hope beta comes soon :)

Reading Dave's essay on what he's learned about journalism, I see many paralells to the broadcast/entertainment world I come from.

In broadcast radio and tv, time literally is money. 30 seconds of commercial airtime could cost tens of thousands of dollars. No wonder MTV at one point decided to 'back-time' the VJ's as they were announcing clips. I recall every 'segment' at the quarter hour was to be no longer than 8 seconds.

Journalists are 'backtimed' in words, and forcing someone to call Michael Jackson the "King of Pop" truly is a cruel form of censorship. Certainly since it was part of the 'deal' for MJ to perform on the Video Music Awards Show.

But all that's ending now. Dave is right, convergence did finally happen. But it didn't unfold in favour of the incumbent media entities. Convergence happend at home, on the desktop, where all the personal horsepower resides. Yes Steve, the power to Rip, Mix, Burn. We're now making our own entertainment.

The revolution will be decentralized.
