Rusty: "I found out last week that K5 is out of money. Our last remaining funds just went off to the gub'mint for quarterly taxes. I won't get a paycheck this month. Subscription income will help a little, but in the longer term, the prognosis is bleak. Frankly, I don't know what to do."
Rusty's plea contains some good analysis of [traditional] media as well as a financial overview of Kuro5hin's finances. I don't want to becoem a member, but will gladly contribute on a one off basis. How about a PayPal donate button? They work. I even tried it out under full disclosure of my financial status and people still sent money. Judging from the reach of K5 I expect others will gladly donate as well.
