Majorleague cool: Blog Toaster. Pings you with an instant message when a weblog you have pre-programmed updates on weblogs.com. I just figured out how really cool this thing is. You can importort your Radio subscriptions opml file!
Update: I just used this on my pocketpc over gsm. I'm going to get used to this toaster thingy for sure. I probably should be concerned that this is running on MSN and not something like jabber. I suppose it would be easy to implement on any platform. Would make a great feature to the radio community server.

Wuz thinking about how cool technology really is. Specifically what our blogging community went through when Dave Winer went 'off-air' for heart surgery.
- Let me repeat that. heart surgery. Don't just gloss over those two words, but let it sink in. Think about what 4 by-passes really looks like and what's involved in a succesful procedure.
- To have Dave back on the blog 10 days after he went in is, well simply amazing.
- Ofcourse the flow of information through his own software, the get well wishes and the community gifted iPod are all pretty star-trekkish if you ask me.
- Somehow I didn't see the call to action for the iPod, so I figure I can give something of equal importance; a playlist for Dave:
- Dionne Warwick - Heartbreaker
- Queen - Sheer heart attack
- ABC - All of my Heart
- Paul Young - What becomes of the broken hearted
- Billy - Achy breaky heart
- Joe Cocker - Unchain my heart
- Motley Crew - Kickstart my heart
- Bee Gees - How can you mend a broken heart
- Elton John & Kiki Dee - Don't go breakin' my heart
- Feel free to add your own suggestions. And again, welcome home Dave!

Arthur "Spud" Melin, co-founder of the toy company that introduced the world to the Frisbee, Hula Hoop and other faddish gems of American pop culture, has died. He was 77 and had Alzheimer's disease.

In my inbox: "So far, about 50 chief executives have been captured, including Martha Stewart, who was detained south of El Paso where she had cut through a barbed-wire fence at the Zaragosa border crossing off Highway 375."
