Packing up the final items that need personal attention before the movers come tomorrow. Already the downstairs is starting to look more like a huge marble bunker. next week the LaPaay boys and girls move in, that'll give the place some color :)

My new office in the sunroom is the big win of the switch to Belgium s our family HQ. I'll post some pix during the weekend if I get around to it. Still miss dave alot. funny how there's thousands of webloggers that know of him, yet no-one has posted what happened to him... go figure. Hope he'll be posting all the details soon on SN!

K5 sets the trend as far as I'm concerned: Post your financial target, disclose what it is spent on then ask for membership fees and donations. Rusty almost has his annual budget! Rusty won't get rich, but he can continue to provide to his community this way. Thinking of doing something similar with SchoolBlogs.

The real eye opener here is rusty's disclosure of his cost structure. I'm assuming it is acurate, but whats important is that this transparency apparently was helpful in raising funds needed to keep the community going. It would be great if Rusty continues the trend of 'open source bookkeeping'. I believe in this model.

Michael Fraase's analysis of the Music Industry is well thought out and has good linkage to follow. I think Michael is dead on target. [thanks to the shifted librarian for the pointer]

Updated thought: A possible flame-out scenario for the music industry is that a few labels start selling downloads with a simple pay solution in 'open' formats like mp3. This triggers "me-too" hysteria and all labels start selling product online in one final knock down, winner take all free for all tag sale. And then.....poof....

There ain't a lot of news happening here in the lowlands, but all the 'news media' have latched on a story of one of Hollands celebrity socialites. Conny Breukhoven, formerly know as "Vanessa" who scored a pop hit in the early eighties, has apparently been invited to sing alongside other worldfamous performers at a sept 11th tribute in New York.

Boy is our dear Conny proud! hee hee. I couldn't resist posting a message on the DutchBlog...

We've been pretty busy these past few days. The movers come tomorrow. Half of our stuff goes to the Castle in belgium, the other half stays here. Redecorating the appartment upstairs which will be our new pied a terre.

I ofcourse took responsibility for moving my own office to the (very spacious) sunroom, which will now function as my 'city' office :)

I miss Dave. Morning 'reads' aren't as fun and rich.
