A general comment to people who mis-spell my last name. It's so old that it doesn't have the shock value it used to. There's still a little zing, but then the question comes up -- why did the person do it, and what does it say about the rest of their argument. My last name was given to my grandfather by a random person at Ellis Island. It's also my mother's last name, and many of the people in my family that I care for. That one would mis-spell it doesn't say anything about me or members of my family, other than I have a last name that can be mis-spelled in an insulting way. (It can also be mis-spelled in a nice way (winner), but people who want to make positive statements, generally don't do it by mis-spelling things.) It does however make a statement about the person who mis-spelled it. - You don't believe your argument merits serious consideration by
intelligent people.
- You don't have respect for me.
- You don't have respect for your readers.

This morning I'm working on the Manila-Blogger Bridge Tool, making it work for non-news-item-oriented Manila sites. My test site is my test site from 1999, when we were bringing Manila online. It's not a news-item-oriented site. But first I'm testing with the original test site, to make sure I haven't broken that connection. One more test. This post should go to my Blogger test site, dave.blogspot.com. Postscript: Everything still works. Whew.
