And it's only July.

While SWMBO is away on a business trip, it is my sworn duty as a father to share certain manly pleasures with the mancub. Today, I helped him learn how much fun it can be to wear costumes when no one is expecting them to be worn. I suspect he will not really begin to practice this on his own for another decade or so, but the seed has been planted.

We were out shopping today, at a particular member's-only store, when we discovered a marvelous treasure in one of the aisles. A rather high-quality costume. At an amazingly low price. Less than I have paid for certain comic character costumes, in fact.

After a successful test-fitting, it was confirmed that this would be one of our purchases for the day. And I spent the rest of the shopping expedition with a fantastic beast in the shopping cart.

This scary dragon earned many comments from passersby, lots of smiles, some grand double-takes I wish I had captured on camera, and more than a few envious looks from other crumb-grabbers.

Well worth the dozen or so times I've helped him into and out of the costume already today...
