Seems to me, that the answer to the above is: Microsoft.
I mean, seriously, what a shocker, the General Manager for the Digital Media Division was knocking the iTunes Music Store! Imagine, that's like, like, like, GM for Coca-Cola knocking Pepsi.
And a Microsoft employee blowing smoke outta hir's ass? Unheard of! Puh-lease.
As many of the Slashdot-er's noted, Microsoft saying that a service doesn't offer "choice" is like...well, you insert the example of ludicrousness you like best.
P.S. Yes, I will probably shut the hell up about the iTMS soon. :)

Cool new iTunes Music Store Feature
So, I cruised over to the iTunes Music Store to check out the new Allowances and Gift Certificates features, and got completely sidetracked by a new feature called, "Celebrity Playlists". Ok, this is kinda cool. Some of them are heavy on attitude but light os description like Missy Elliot, and others are very descriptive about what the songs mean to the artist, like Herbie Hancock's. What's cool about it, as that you can buy it as an album.
Think about that.
I wonder if, along with the right to carry these songs, Apple's licensing agreement lets them sell them however they want.
Remember K-Tel? Goodbyeeee K-Tel, and all those other POS companies offering you compilations.
Anyways, that's more side-effect, I think the rather neat thing is reading the artists comments, and y'know what? It's worked, I've already picked up a couple of songs I probably wouldn't have listened to otherwise.

As God is My Witness...
I will never, ever go to anything associated with, sponsored by or touched RadioDisney or Disneyradio or whateverthehellit'scalled again, if I have any say in the matter.
I went to the event at the Stone Zoo, and I will say that Radio Disney (I just looked it up) was the lamest thing I've seen in a while.
I mean, Ok, all one of you who read this are saying "Ooooh, so what was the surprise again?" I know, I know...I know....I KNOW.....I know.
I should have known.
Important thing: The kids had fun. I kept muttering that to myself to keep myself sane.
It was just Disney marketing gone insane. If the guy didn't know what a costume was guess what he guessed? You got it, something from a Disney show.
The parts that weren't just a shilling op for Disney were fun, tho. And...
...the kids had fun.
