I've been posting for years that I think Apple has a great business strategy and has the potential to become as big as Dell & Microsoft someday. People have said I'm nuts, but the "incremental growth" strategy has taken some large leaps forward lately (and Microsoft has really been shooting themselves in the foot (Emphasis added -Ed)). The idea of Apple-as-Powerhouse is looking a little less crazy all the time[The Motley Fool]
Note the section that I'm emphasizing, that's one of the key philosophies that has made Microsoft so effective: wait for your enemies to screw up.
I've noticed that Apple seems to be taking that road as one to follow. Not trying to overwhelm Microsoft, but to concentrate on what it's good at: Making cool stuff that just works.
Let's see if they can keep it up.

Dell's Sell
Ok, I officially state, that the next person I hear say that Apple's machines are Too Much, I Will Kick Their Butt.
I just finished configuring a couple of machines over at Dell's site, and looking at those spiffy "As low as: $799" prices, it's hard not to be swayed.
And then you actually price out a system. Basically $799 buys you a box with a hard drive, a processor and a minimal OS. WTF. What's that you want a usable system? Well That's $1299. F'ing used-car lot, is what it is.
