Apple Going Intel(Non-PPC)

O.K. Folks. I'm sure I've written this before, but it bears repeating:

Apple Moving The Mac OS To Intel Chips Is A Declaration Of War On Microsoft.

Even if Apple doesn't take it this way, Microsoft will.

Technically, yes they could do it. Economically, it might make sense, but the above sentence is the important one. Yes it all can be done, technically, sales-wise, etc.

What's more if this is just an announcement that Apple is moving the Mac OS to Intel (Non-PPC) processors, then that means Microsoft has from Monday until Apple actually releases something to attack. That's not a window I'd want to give Microsoft. (Pun unintended)

So...what Apple has to ask themselves is..."do I feel lucky this year?" Well punks, do ya?

Seriously, Is Apple ready to do full head-on battle with Microsoft? Unless the answer to that is "yes" all the rest of this speculation is pointless.

For Longer post on the subject that I agree on, read Jon Gruber's take over on Daring Fireball

Addendum; a new take on this that I've heard which sounds interesting is that Intel will begin making PowerPC chips. An interesting possibility, with some reasons to believe it (Witness that the new XBox will be using a PPC processor, as well as the new Nintendo Console.

Women's issues; The Coin

Wow, it's so interesting reading Halley and GinMar. Talk about yer two sides of the coin.

So we have Halley here talking up dating and how she sees it has "changed" in a way that empowers women.

Then he have GinMar addressing prostitution and the mail she gets telling her how horrible it is to be a woman in the U.S.

Choices, choices... Bet you can tell who lives in suburbia, huhn?
