Pruning the Mulberry Trees
I spend the afternoon pruning the mulberry trees in the backyard. These are big trees and they haven't been pruned in a while. The task is made more difficult by the phone, cable, and power lines that run through the trees.
At one point I was reasonably certain that I was going to take out the phone and cable lines with a 50 lb branch. That would have put me offline for a while. Fortunately I had enough rope to arrest the branches fall and was able to clear the lines. But it was definitely shakey knee time while I was up on the ladder.
It's funny, I don't usually don't have a problem with heights. I've done some rock climbing and think nothing of scrambling up cliffs to look at rocks. But put me on a ladder and I get the willies!
