Web Bug Simulator

I am still trying to understand this. I don't know what the data on this page mean.

Are these folks who are subscribing to Fluid Flow? What do the numbers mean? Can anyone enlighten me?

Virtual PC: The Saga Continues

Connectix says an update will be issued sometime in the next week or so, and that the speed will get markedly better. I hope so. Despite using every tweak possible, the performance on a Titanium G4 machine with half a gigabyte of RAM remains painful. [Dan Gillmor's eJournal]

Dan Gillmor and many other users have been complaining about the speed of Virtual PC on OS X. I run Virtual PC occasionally, mostly as a PC Anywhere client for one of my servers. In my use, I haven't experienced glacial performance. So I don't feel like I have been using beta software. However, my expectations are low and my RAM is large.

Simon Cameron. "An honest politician is one who, when he is bought, will stay bought." [Adam Curry]

I feel a rant coming on. Tomorrow, San Jose is set to re-elect a professional politician. Using the quote above as a guide, I can't be sure if he is an honest politician or not. The mayor's actions are guided by political expediency. He is very good at looking good.

The mayor touts his record on traffic relief and support for neighborhoods. But his crowning achievement, bringing BART to San Jose, will not be running until he is long gone. BART's chosen route will be a boon to the developers that support the mayor, not the commuters who need traffic relief now. BART will not go to north San Jose jobs. BART will not go the the airport. BART will rip up and divide existing neighborhoods. BART will cost billions and will jeopardize existing transit solutions by sucking money away from them.

BART looks great on the mayor's resume, but he won't have to deal with the consequences. San Jose will.
