Virtual PC Improves, But Not Enough [Dan Gillmor's eJournal]

This is getting to be a little silly. Slow, in this case, is a state of mind, independent of processor speed. I find Virtual PC, more than fast enough to do the tasks I require. But I don't tax it or expect too much from it.

I don't know what the people who are complaining about speed expect? Does Virtual PC need to run as fast as a Windows machine before your satisfied? If speed is the number one concern, why not just buy a Windows box?

As I see it, Virtual PC provides a relatively cheap method for running Windows software on your Mac. If the software works within your expectations, great. If not, return it and buy a Windows box to fill your needs.

Postscript to today's new feature. I clearly made a mistake in the design. On the HTML rendering you should have full control of the way the title renders. Please consider this feature, for the next 24 hours, to be a beta. I'm going to break it and do it right. Sorry. Still diggin.  [Scripting News]

It looks like UserLand is learning. From a design point of view, it can be very difficult to work in and around html that you can't control. There is too much html build into UserLand's products. As much as possible, the html presentation should be separated from an applications function. It is good to see that UserLand is starting to recognize this.
