The Gustine City Band in Santa Cruz
Michele and I spent most of Sunday in Santa Cruz. It was a wonderful summer day there (no fog and a light breeze). We were in town because Michele marches with the Gustine City Band and the band was playing in the Portuguese Festa.

The Band marching past the new Cooper House. This is the first time that I had seen the building that replaced the original Cooper House (which was destroyed in the Loma Prieta earthquake). I was underwhelmed. It has none of the charm of the original building.

Marching on Pacific Ave

Up the hill to the church, downtown Santa Cruz in the background.
Michele is the middle clarinetist.

The band at Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz. It took a trip to St. Croix to realize the relationship between Santa Cruz and Holy Cross.
