The low-fat/high-carb diet issue, while far from resolved, is a useful illustration of how science works. Theories are tested, and when they are found lacking, the are rexamined & replaced with new hypotheses. It may take time, but, ultimately, the scientific method crushes pride, inertia, orthodoxy & bureacracy. [ Erik's Geekfun Emergency ]
A wonderful description of how science works. It pains me that from the top down, the US doesn't understand the art of science and how it is performed.
