MyPod 1.0 collects news headlines, movie times, contacts and calendars, stock quotes, and weather forecasts and automatically downloads them to an iPod. It can also download other content, such as text notes, and can accept any new web-based source that provides an RSS or RDF stream. MyPod is $14.95 for Mac OS X 10.2 and iPod software version 1.2. An interesting idea, a newsreader, etc that syncs with an iPod. But, I am having difficutly seeing where this would be useful. I suppose that if you were commuting by train or bus, you could load your iPod with the latest headlines as you head out the door.
But this seems like a pretty small market and a definite step backwards from several years ago when I could get a full-time internet connection with my Newton on the train between San Jose and San Francisco. Also, the iPod contact interface is not a great reading environment, it takes too long to scroll through the headlines.
