Less than a week after Lyle Lovett, Michele and I were once again front and center at a great concert. The Monterey Symphony performed Copland's Clarinet Concerto on Sunday, October 12. Michele and I were in the third row this time, but our seats were directly under center.
I have been a Copland fan since I was 7. The Clarinet Concerto was a favorite before I married a clarinet player. Michele and I listened to Benny Goodman playing the piece as we drove to Monterey. Jerry Simas matched Benny's performance on the piece.
This is probably the best week of music, that I have experienced. Two great concerts with unbelievable seats. I wish all my weeks were like this.
