It took longer than I imagined, but Panther is now installed. I have seen the shrinking windows. I guess that I will like this in the future.

I guess Panther is everything I expected, but I didn't expect too much.

With today's arrival of Panther (Mac OS X.3), I suspect many people will be upgrading their systems. I am planning on installing it on at least two systems in my office. I haven't decided whether to install it on my aging G3 PowerBook, yet. I want to play with it a bit first.

There is one system that I won't be upgrading, though. I will not be upgrading my Xserve box. The costs for upgrading OS X server are too high to consider, $1000 for the unlimited version and $500 for a 10 user license.

Since the box is nearly indestructible now, I don't see any reason upgrade. My only concern is that Apple continues to offer security upgrades for older versions of OS X.
