Euthanized animals: Bakersfield's local paper published this photo--would you? [Susan Mernit's Blog]
You can't be a pet owner and not be deeply disturbed by the lead photo. But disturbing news may require disturbing images to get people to act. From the article, it sounds like Bakersfield and Kern County are not doing enough to educate their citizens and control pet breeding. If an image of 55 gallon barrels of euthanized dogs and cats helps start the education and control process, then the image needs to be shown.
I hope that the people of Kern County act appropriately and work to reduce the number of pets that are euthanized.
