New Apple toys...
Apple announced a lot of stuff today (a few of which I'll list here):
I just downloaded iTunes for Windows and the installation looks pretty promising... the seem to include some of QuickTime 6.4 in the installation and we reach the reboot now prompt (round the block we go...)
Just got it running and... looks just like iTunes on the iBook. Cool. Now to try moving over some music and peeking into the Apple Music Store. Listening to sample music from the Appme Music Store worked. Now I'm trying to share a few songs from my Mac to the PC (need to get on the same wireless network first...)

- iTunes for Windows. The iTunes web site has the download (~20mb)
- Voice recording and photo downloads on iPod - this means that taking a digital camera, a media reader and an iPod on a trip could work really well.
- MacMinute had all of the announcements.

Hammered Dulcimer practice
In my copious spare time, I've been trying to learn how to play a song on my hammered dulcimer. This is a song to be played at church in a couple of Sundays. I figured it was time for me to learn a hard song, so I picked Sometimes by Step by Rich Mullins. I tried getting capturing it and playing it slowly and finding the notes by ear - no dice. I bought the sheet music for it and I'm slowly learning each measure - yep, it's that hard (kind of a neat challenge to see if I can learn this song before I need to play it...) So, every night and every morning I try to play what I've learned and add a little bit more.
I'd normally just point to the Kid Brothers site, but the song just isn't listenable there (file is missing :-( Go listen to it... Not a great version there... but you can get the idea about the song.
I taped a couple of measures and I'll upload it later. I can't quite get there from here right now... computers don't always agree with each other.
You'll also hear our dogs barking in the background. This is because they love toast in the morning and just as I was taping along... the toast had popped up and Maureen was getting it ready. You'd think we were starving them... but, they just like toast in the morning :-)
Update: I've uploaded the couple of measures... listen by clicking here.
