F1 Boston pictures
Here are some pictures from our BlueSocket F1 Boston event last week:
Formula one racing car that is inside the lobby:

Once you enter, there is a registration desk on the far side of the room. This is where you sign the legal documents that says that they aren't responsible and they want to know who to call in case of an emergancy.
This is an example car that was next to the registration desk:

This picture is the top view of one of the spiffy go-carts we got to race around in:

Once your track is ready (they have two indoor racing tracks which can be joined to form a really big inside track), then you go down and have to get suited up in a racing outfit, with a helmet and a neckbrace. I think this is part safety and part making everyone look the same - so you don't quite know who is racing next to you. This is a line up of some one of our races getting started:

This is a picture of one of the races:

Here's a picture of one of the racing carts with someone on it. I fit in one, but it was kinda tight.

During the race you can be penalized and that means you need to pull into the penalty box and get talked, like this:
Everybody gets to race at least a couple of times and the best ten racers were in the last race. The winner got to drive around the track with the finish flag:

Mac OS X Panther
I just upgraded my iBook to Panther and the short story is that my computer is snappier than ever. Programs startup quicker, Mail seems crisper. I'm just starting to explore the new features - but expose is a really nice feature - push a key that you define and ALL of the windows show up on the screen, mouse over ANY of them and a title of what is in that window shows up, click the window you want and blamo, you're there.
More info once I've played around for a while. So far - I'm thinking that it's a great OS update.
